How do you add a signature to a PDF? — 8 steps

The step most PDF tools skip: removing the paper background from your signature photo. PDFixer makes it a one-slider operation.

  1. Open your PDF in PDFixer on Windows.
  2. In the Stamp / Signature panel, click Make transparent signature.
  3. Write your signature on paper, photograph it with your phone and send the photo to your PC (for example by e-mail or WhatsApp).
  4. Import the photo and crop it to the signature.
  5. Move the Remove background slider until only the handwriting remains — the paper background disappears.
  6. Optionally choose a different ink colour.
  7. Click Save — the transparent signature is stored as a reusable preset.
  8. Place the signature from the Stamp / Signature panel on the signature line and save the PDF locally.
